Film and Media

After completing their Undergraduate degree at Queen鈥檚 University with a major in Film and Media Studies and a minor in Gender Studies, Maeva Baldassarra is pursuing their MA in the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies program. Maeva鈥檚 research interests surround New Queer Cinema and those unique innovations integral to the movement鈥檚 facilitation of radical queer visibility and worldmaking.

Ying Cui completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Media at 澳门六合彩开奖现场 and is now pursuing an MA in the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies program. Her research interests focus on contemporary East Asian queer studies and diaspora media. With an interest in cultural studies, Ying explores social power structures and gender equality at a deeper level by analyzing the portrayal of film characters.

Francesca C. DiBona is an MA student in the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies program. She holds a BAH in Critical Media Studies and Urban Education from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. Working in both textual and essayistic media forms, her work concerns topics of transgression theory, Orientalism, food, and fugitivity, among others.

After graduating from 澳门六合彩开奖现场 with an Undergraduate degree in Film and Media, Xiao Lin has transitioned into the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies MA program. Her research interests include feminist, queer theory, and narrative production.

Manal Osman is a 21-year-old MA student in Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies. Obtaining a Mass Media and Communications degree from the University of Balamand, she is an advocate of storytelling and cinema. Her education involves exploring textual media studies, writing prose, and creating moving image.

Yuting Shen is currently pursuing her master's degree in the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies program. She completed her BA at Queen鈥檚 majoring in Film and Media. Yuting's research revolves around the curation, sensory ethnography documentary, and the profound influence of nature (land, water, air, etc.) on artistic expression. She is also passionate about contemporary archives, film photography, interactive art, digital media, and Asian cinema. Through her interdisciplinary approach, Yuting aims to illuminate the dynamic interplay between curatorial practices, sensory experiences, and the elemental forces that shape and inspire artistic endeavours.

Anran Zheng is an MA student in the Screen Cultures and Curatorial Studies program. After graduating with a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Journalism and Communication in China, Anran turned her research interest to the intersection of film and gender, especially focusing on Chinese feminist and queer film. She is also interested in archival film and curatorial practice; gender and Asian pop/sub-culture.
