The Lake Shift 2024 - Day 4

Students inside the main dining room at 澳门六合彩开奖现场 University Biological Station

Wednesday

骋鈥檇补测!

Our early morning Lake Shifters were up for the sunrise and what a beauty it was (I saw the photos). Beautiful red sky, but of course we know what that means!  Yes the heavens opened up and we had a down pour for the rest of the day and night. But it did help to not only clear the air, but provided our writers the cozy feeling to get down to work.

Now I mentioned yesterday that the black rat snake (Chad) paid a visit to Earl Cottage. Well he is back, and eyeing the birds nest on top of the cottage. But Alysha is there to protect Junkie (mother bird) and her eggs, by gently asking Chad to 鈥渕ove along!鈥 We will see if he persists on sticking around.

Associate Dean, Chris DeLuca and colleague Heather Merla joined us for lunch. Nice for them both to be able to chat with the group and give some advice if asked.

Now Blue has been helping everyone get up in the morning to join her for a morning paddle. She has also been showing some of the students how to shadow box. Might have to give that a go sometime.

It might have been raining but that didn鈥檛 stop us from going down to Chaffey鈥檚 Lock after lunch for an ice cream. My favourite is the salted caramel.

Later that night six of our Lake Shifters did rapid talks to the rest of the camp, researchers and community. Thanks to Jenelle, Blue, Debbie, Kate, Bradley and Marianna for volunteering to talk. And thanks to Heather for being emcee.

Animal count today:

2 x large black snakes (includes Chad)

2 x ground hogs

Lots of deer and their fawns (so cute)

2 x hawks
