It is a responsibility of all Queen鈥檚 community members to critically engage, address, and respond to ableism. This module is not exhaustive and does not cover the full scope on ableism. However, this module will introduce some key concepts of ableism to deepen self-reflection and ongoing critical thinking within our community. Learning more about ableism is helpful for self-advocacy as well as supporting colleagues, peers, customers, clients, friends, and family with disabilities here at Queen鈥檚 University.

This module covers a number of topics including:

  1. Describing ableism;
  2. Disability models;
  3. Disability intersectionality;
  4. Ableism and systemic violence and 
  5. Reflection activities.

 

Note: Ensure you have 60鈥搈inutes of uninterrupted time to complete this module. The module will eventually time鈥搊ut due to inactivity. Refreshing the page after time鈥搊ut will cause progress in the module to be lost and you will need to complete the module again.
