Udo Schüklenk, Professor of Philosophy and Ontario Research Chair in Bioethics at Queen’s University, was on , discussing the US border opening and vaccine matching.

Said Udo: “The ethical problem here is, of course, that a lot of people – and we are talking about hundreds of millions of people in the global south – haven’t even had their first shot. So, is it reasonable for Canadians to say, “hey, you know we are clamoring to get access to the third shot so we can travel”, while others, whose lives might be at risk, will not be able to access any vaccines at all? And this, really, is the ethical issue: it’s a distribution issue, it’s a global justice issue”.
