Will Kymlicka, Professor and Canada's Research Chair in Political Philosophy at Queen's, has been appointed, with , Professor of Sociology at Berkeley, as co-director of a 5-year, $5 million program, "", under the aegis of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR). Their proposal was among the few selected for funding under the 鈥淕lobal Call for Ideas鈥 issued by CIFAR last year. It鈥檚 the first time CIFAR has appointed a philosopher as a program director. (Though Professor Kymlicka served as a regular member of a previous CIFAR program on 鈥淪uccessful Societies鈥.)
