Release Date: March 11, 2022

22-8249

Kingston Police would like to alert the community in regards to ongoing suspicious activity in and around the Queen鈥檚 University area.

Kingston Police have been made aware of multiple instances of a male approaching females in a vehicle on the following dates:

  • Saturday, March 5th, 2022 at approximately 2:00 am
  • Tuesday, March 8th, 2022 at approximately 11:45 pm
  • Wednesday, March 9th, 2022 at approximately 12:30 am

These instances have largely occurred in the areas of Bader Lane, Albert Street and Stuart Street. That does not exclude a wider area university-wide or beyond, but this is the concentrated area of reports at this stage of the investigation.

During the encounters, the male approaches in his vehicle, following slowly behind the females or even waiting for them to pass as they walk by and then following. He has turned his vehicle around on occasion as well to follow the females and has attempted to engage them in conversation. He has had his window down when he attempts to communicate with the women.

The male is described as Caucasian, approximately 20-30 years of age, with brown hair and is clean shaven with possible stubble. The male may be wearing a grey toque with his ears covered and strings dangling from the hat.

There is no license plate or make and model at present, but the vehicle is described as being a white four door, sedan-style, motor vehicle. There is light tint applied on the windows however, they are still transparent enough to see inside/through the vehicle.

Police are asking members of the community, especially pedestrians, to please follow safety tips of not being alone at night and remaining aware of their surroundings at all times.
