From June 16-18, 2022, Open Art Histories will hold its at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and Union Gallery.

The Institute brings together educators from various disciplines, examining important pedagogical issues, strategies for increasing arts education's accessibility and diversity, and methods of putting these concepts into practice.

The Art Gallery of Ontario has donated a fascinating triptych to the Art Conservation Study Collection. Conserved in the 1930s by George Stout, a key figure in the history of Art Conservation, Lamentation with Saints and Donors has arrived at Queen’s with detailed documentation showing a history of investigation into this somewhat bewildering object.

This month, Queen's M.A.C. student Robin Canham saw her article, "Practical Techniques for Creating Nanocellulose Film", . Canham's article focuses on best practices evaporation casting nanocellulose films.

Among the images selected for the People's Choice round of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±ÏÖ³¡'s Art of Research Photo Contest is a photograph taken by Art History Ph.D. candidate Ben McHutchion. McHutchion snapped this photo of Helmut Heinze's bronze statue, Choir of Survivors, which has resided at England's Coventry Cathedral since 2012. The statue was donated by the city of Dresden, and captures the civilian casualties of WWII aerial bombing campaigns. McHutchion's photograph complements his research, including the international cultural exchange in times of war.

Art Conservation students Melissa Allen, Caroline Longo, and Antonia Mappin-Kasirer traveled this month to the Bader International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle, UK, to document, inventor

Art History M.A. alumna Olenka Horbatsch presented on "Metalwork Design Drawings from the Circle of Hans Holbein the Younger" as part of  symposium at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York. The symposium was in conjunction with the recent , the first major exhibition dedicated to Holbein the Younger in the US.
