David de Witt, Bader Curator of European Art at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, is enjoying a change of scene this winter as guest curator at the Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam.

“This museum plays a remarkable role in presenting Rembrandt and his context to a lively and engaged public, and I am honoured to be invited to contribute to its programs,” says Dr. de Witt.

In a series of visits over a four–month period, Dr. de Witt will assist the museum with plans for an exhibition of the work of Rembrandt’s late pupils. He brings to this appointment an extensive background in Dutch and Flemish art of the 17th century.

“I’m so pleased Dr. de Witt has received this invitation to share his expertise and to work closely with a great collection that is so sympathetic with our core holdings in the Bader Collection,” says Jan Allen, Director, Agnes Etherington Art Centre. “His curatorial work in Amsterdam reflects the Agnes’s growing international presence.”
