Chancellor Dodge's portrait unveiled

Commemorating two terms as the university鈥檚 highest officer, David Dodge鈥檚 chancellor portrait was unveiled this weekend at the University Council dinner. Following a tradition that dates back to the 1800s, Dr. Dodge鈥檚 portrait, , will be hung in the Peter Lougheed Room of Richardson Hall. His portrait joins the likes of Sirs Sandford Fleming and Robert Borden.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been a great honour to serve as chancellor these past six years鈥 Dr. Dodge says. 鈥淚鈥檝e had the opportunity to work with many wonderful people during my time here and they will all be missed.鈥
Though he has retired from his position as chancellor, Dr. Dodge was appointed as chancellor emeritus by University Council. The honorary position recognizes the exceptional job Dr. Dodge performed during his terms as chancellor.
Chancellor Emeritus Dodge is also being honored with an annual lecture. The Queen鈥檚 School of Business, Queen鈥檚 Economics Department and Queen鈥檚 School of Policy Studies lecture will now be named The Chancellor David Dodge Lecture.
Dr. Dodge will be succeeded as chancellor by Jim Leech, whose installation will take place on Nov. 18.
