Searching for funding opportunities just got a lot easier for Queen鈥檚 University researchers.

University Research Services (URS) recently launched a . The tool is one aspect of an overall revamp of the URS website to make the department鈥檚 services and resources easier to access.

Karina McInnis, Executive Director, URS, said a survey of researchers and administrators last year indicated a desire for this new tool.

鈥淢embers of the research community expressed their frustration with having to scan numerous websites and keep track of various funding opportunities. We believe this website will simplify the process and help reduce the time spent on this activity,鈥 Ms. McInnis says.

The database allows researchers to search for funding programs and deadlines using several filters, including:

鈥 Type of grant program (for example, fellowships, new investigator, clinical trial)
鈥 Health sciences (with relevant sub-filters)
鈥 Social sciences, humanities, and creative arts (with relevant sub-filters)
鈥 Natural sciences and engineering (with relevant sub-filters)
鈥 Interdisciplinary research areas (for example, aging, northern research, bioinformatics)

Don鈥檛 miss out on funding opportunities
University Research Services delivers information about upcoming funding opportunities and significant research news and events through a twice-weekly email. Visit the to sign up for the service.

Along with the funding database, the updated URS website features educational resources for human ethics applications, as well as relevant policies and forms. The website also links to several tools, such as the Tools for Research at Queen鈥檚 (TRAQ) and the Fast Administrative Support Tool (FAST), which provides quick access to financial reporting information.

鈥淲e鈥檙e grateful to our team for working hard to develop the website鈥檚 features, and to staff and faculty at Queen鈥檚 who provided valuable feedback through surveys and interviews,鈥 Ms. McInnis says. 鈥淲hile we鈥檙e confident this tool will immediately be a useful resource for research teams, we certainly invite any feedback or suggestions as we continue to improve our site.鈥
