Queen鈥檚 annual Sustainability Week is back this year with a lineup of events to engage the campus community and promote sustainable living. The week runs from Monday, Oct. 6 to Friday, Oct. 10.

鈥淪ustainability Week highlights initiatives both on and off campus that contribute to a more sustainable university and community,鈥 says Aaron Ball, Sustainability Manager. 鈥淚t is a wonderful way to bring students, staff and faculty together to raise awareness through fun and informative events.鈥

Under the theme of 鈥5 days, 5 ways," each day during Sustainability Week highlights a different way to live more sustainably:

Monday, Oct. 6 Alternative Transportation
Tuesday, Oct. 7 Energy & Climate
Wednesday, Oct. 8 Local Food
Thursday, Oct. 9 Waste Reduction
Friday, Oct. 10 Local Environment

The week kicks off with an 鈥渁lternative transportation hub鈥 on Monday, where visitors can test drive electric vehicles. Other events planned for the week include a clothing swap, a tour of the Wolfe Island Wind Farm, a local food scavenger hunt, a screening of the documentary Wasteland, and an eco-walk at the Queen鈥檚 University Biological Station.

鈥淪ustainability Week is made possible through the hard work of many individuals and groups on campus,鈥 says Mr. Ball. 鈥淭he AMS, SGPS, QBACC, Enactus, STRIVE, Earth Centre, and Greenovations have all contributed to making this year鈥檚 events happen.鈥
