Amanda Fazio

I am currently employed at the York Catholic District School Board as a high school teacher in Vaughan, Ontario with aspirations of becoming a high school level administrator. Currently in my ninth year of teaching at the secondary level, I have taught a variety of courses within the Canadian and World Studies and Religious Education Departments. More specifically, I have taught Canadian History, Civics, Philosophy and several different Religious Education courses.

I have fond memories of my time spent taking a variety of different courses in both the History and Religious Studies Departments at Queen鈥檚 so much so that I often encourage my grade twelve students to apply to Queen鈥檚 for their post-secondary education and recount many stories about the learning which transpired and the amazing experiences I had both at Queen鈥檚 and in the city of Kingston.  I have a lot of gratitude for Dr. Caroline-Isabelle Caron who furthered my learning and appreciation for French-Canadian history and who taught with such zeal.  I am also deeply thankful to Dr. Anthony D鈥橢lia who helped further my love for Italian history and whose teaching style inspired me to pursue a Bachelor of Education degree in 2004 from OISE/UT in Intermediate and Senior levels of History and Religious Education. Continuing my education, in 2012 I completed a Master of Education degree from Brock University with much of the focus on First Nation, M茅tis and Inuit education in Ontario. I am currently enrolled in the final course of the Principal鈥檚 Qualification Program at York University and hope to pursue a position in administration within the near future.
