Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars and Fellows

A Key Initiative of the Principal鈥檚 New Strategic Framework

The Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars and Fellows Program is a university-wide initiative to support faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and students displaced by war, conflict, and political instability from a variety of geographic and social locations.

The program is comprised of two streams.

Stream 1: Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars

Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars provides provides forcibly displaced students and students who hold precarious immigration status with an admissions pathway and funding to complete their degree at Queen鈥檚.

Undergraduate Students

The Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars at the undergraduate level will be identified through Queen鈥檚 long-standing partnership with the .

This program provides resettlement in Canada and access to post-secondary education to refugees in selected countries of asylum. The Principal鈥檚 Global Scholars and Fellows Program expands Queen鈥檚 commitment to WUSC and we encourage interested applicants to visit  for information on how to apply.

Graduate Students

Scholars with an experience of displacement interested in graduate study, including short-term graduate placements (up to one year), are encourage to email grad.studies@queensu.ca  for more information.

Stream 2: Principal鈥檚 Global Fellows

Principal鈥檚 Global Fellows offers support to forcibly displaced faculty members and post-doctoral fellows.

For Faculty Members

Support for displaced faculty members is provided through Queen鈥檚 existing partnerships with , the and , the , and other international and national organizations. Support is provided for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal.

For Post-Doctoral Fellows

Queen鈥檚 provides Post-Doctoral Fellowships to allow forcibly displaced PhD graduates to continue their academic work at Queen鈥檚 for one year. This is a new initiative, offered through the School of Graduate Studies and Post-Doctoral Affairs and the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research).
